In October 2018, Hospice Halifax set out to raise $100,000 through a Support End-of-Life Care campaign, with 100% of proceeds going to provide quality care at the new hospice residence, starting in April 2019.

You, the community answered the call in a big and meaningful way!

We reported that we exceeded the $70,000 mark on December 19, 2018…and today, January 7, 2019, Gordon and Beth announced that we’ve exceeded the $100,000 mark — all due to your incredible generosity!

Fostering patient and family comfort will be the heart of compassionate care at Hospice Halifax. From around-the-clock professional nursing care, to warm, inviting spaces, good food, licensed counselling and social work support, and on site family accommodations, your contributions will be put to good use. Hospice Halifax will offer all its services free-of-charge.

We extend sincere thanks to Beth, our nurse manager, and our volunteer family, Stephen and Betty, who became the real life faces behind the campaign this fall.

Stephen and Betty, pictured with their son Philip. Philip became a patient with a hospice in British Columbia in 2016. Stephen and Betty volunteered to share their experience with hospice care as part of our Support End-of-Life Care campaign.

We thank Revolve Branding & Marketing, who designed and helped steer the campaign and Russell House Marketing, whose can-do attitude produced over 140,000 direct mail letters for households across Halifax Regional Municipality. We also thank the many volunteers who contributed their skill and expertise to develop the campaign.

Most of all, we thank our community of caring individuals. On behalf of our future hospice patients and families, thank you!
