What a sensational night in support of Hospice Halifax! Over 1,000 people raised $140,000 in net proceeds at Feeling the Love on Saturday, February 9 at the Halifax Convention Centre. All contributions go toward the new hospice residence opening in early April 2019.

Please take a moment to complete our survey so that we can continue to improve. If you complete the survey by
Monday, Feb. 18 you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift certificate!

We kept it ‘social’ during the dinner with a performance by The Sarah Ellen Morrison Jazz Quintet and brief presentations from the always charming Liz Rigney, soon-to-be Hospice Halifax house volunteer, and Bob MacKinnon, CEO, Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation and event chair. Thank you Halifax Convention Centre staff for preparing and serving a delicious 3-course dinner.

High energy Asia & NuGruv got the dance party started right and The Mellotones kept the funk and soul flowing until the early hours of the night. Talk about a hopping, ballroom-sized dance floor.

The silent auction amazed with over 80 themed packages. Our guests came away with one-of-a-kind items, including a helicopter ride for four and great seats to an upcoming Toronto Maple Leafs game in Toronto…just to name a few items.

Which lucky guests won our raffle prizes? Susan Danischeski won 2 economy class tickets anywhere in North America Air Canada flies. She’ll be going on a trip soon courtesy of Air Canada Foundation.

Jane Crowell came away with his and hers Frederique Constant watches, provided by Touch of Gold.

Barbie Zinck is the lucky winner of a year-long contest sponsored by Subaru Canada, Steele Subaru and The Rotary Clubs of Halifax Metro. Barbie won a brand new Subaru Crosstrek!

The new hospice residence opens in early April. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels — @hospicehalifax — for more information.

Thank you, everyone. We had so much fun at Feeling the Love. See you next year!
