You laced up your sneakers on Sunday, May 5 and came out for a great day in support of Hospice Halifax. We’re so thankful!

Through our teams’ and hikers’ generosity and donors’ contributions online, we raised over $55,000 in net proceeds for the new hospice residence, opening to Nova Scotian patients and families in the coming days. Your contributions go toward providing the best end-of-life care possible.
During the hike, about 250 people walked from the Nova Scotia Power Building on the Halifax waterfront to the new hospice residence, planting paper flowers to symbolize their support for the cause. We enjoyed a BBQ lunch and cake on our return to the waterfront. What a beautiful spring day!
One home, many hearts
We offer sincere thanks to our dedicated event committee, led by chair Tony Webb, our many volunteers, and our partners who made the event a reality:
EMERA / Nova Scotia Power for the use of their venue
Arbour Memorial – Atlantic Funeral Homes for the catered BBQ
Just Four Fun Barbershop Quartet
Aerobic instructor Vahide Morina
The many companies that contributed to our fabulous gift card tree
The Pathfinders group for helping along the route

New-to-you retail store coming in summer 2019
Did you take home a blue bag with a label on it during the hike? It’s time to donate! Fill it with gently used clothing, accessories, and jewelry and bring it to the hospice residence at 618 Francklyn Street in Halifax on any weekday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Anyone can donate and you’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for all items sold in the shop — a unique way to be rewarded for a good deed!
One hundred per cent of the revenue generated from our retail store will directly fund the new hospice residence’s operations.
Please keep your eye out for more information, details and opportunities to support our newest venture!
