Detour Route to Hospice Halifax
There is ongoing construction on Tower Road near Hospice Halifax. The Tower Road CN bridge is closed to drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians until December 2026.
You can reach Hospice Halifax via the Young Avenue CN Bridge while the Tower Road CN Bridge remains fully closed for construction. Below, you’ll find suggested routes based on your mode of transportation to help make your visit as smooth as possible.

If Driving
Please use the marked detour via the Young Avenue CN Bridge.
After crossing the Young Avenue CN Bridge:
- Continue South toward Point Pleasant Drive
- Turn left onto Point Pleasant Drive
- Continue to Francklyn Street
- Turn right onto Francklyn Street
You will arrive at Hospice Halifax, 618 Francklyn Street.
If Walking or Cycling
Use the marked detour via the Young Avenue CN Bridge.
After crossing the Young Avenue CN Bridge:
- Turn left onto Harbourview Drive
- At Tower Road, follow the marked pedestrian/cyclist pathway down Pine Hill Drive
- Continue as Pine Hill Drive merges into Francklyn Street
You will arrive at Hospice Halifax, 618 Francklyn Street.
If Bussing Via Route 29
Halifax Transit Route 29 is detouring around the construction area.
From Tower Road (before the Tower Road CN Bridge), Route 29 will:
- Turn left on Atlantic Street
- Turn right on Young Avenue
- Turn right on Harbourview Drive
- Turn left back onto Tower Road
