While Gary officially retired in 2021 from “corporate life”, he hasn’t slowed down that much! After a 25 year career in Hospitality/ Hotel management, he transitioned to specialize in Human Resource Management for the following 15 years. Gary has held regional and national leadership positions in H.R. and has particular expertise in organizational culture, employee engagement and change management. In 2013 he graduated from the Executive MBA program at the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s and he also holds the provincial designation for HR professionals, CPHR.

For many years Gary has been seen ‘running the roads’ of Halifax as a running coach for group runs. He also loves fitness, swimming and travel. In 2021 he joined the faculty of Saint Mary’s University as a casual Instructor in the Management department. He joined the HR & Governance Committee of Hospice Halifax in February 2022 before joining the Board of Directors in August of the same year.
