Thank you for another month of giving and enabling compassionate end-of-life care in your community! As we enter May, we’re looking forward to spring and all the sunshine, warmth, and outdoor activities that come with it, including more opportunities to engage with you!
Spring and sunshine have been the overarching theme for patients, visitors, and volunteers this past month. Thankfully, we have had plenty of sunshine in Halifax to embrace over the last few weeks. To help our patients enjoy the first signs of spring, we have added hummingbird feeders to Vivian’s Garden to bring life during the early bloom, and window scratchers and sun prisms near the windows in patient rooms to make each day that much brighter.
One patient, in particular, has spent the majority of her days outside listening to the birds, watching as they come for a meal at the bird feeder, and taking in the comforting scents as spring arrives, making us much more excited for a summer in the garden.
