On the Go Grief Support Group

On the Go Grief Support Group

The On the Go Grief Support Group is a weekly walking group to connect people with the comfort of nature while grieving a death. Participants join a trained bereavement facilitator on a peaceful stroll through Point Pleasant Park where they can share their experiences surrounded by the grounding sights, smells, and sounds of the outdoors.

People may join at any point in their grief journey and talk as little or as much as needed. Our trained facilitators will guide the discussion as the group shares and finds understanding in each other’s company.

  • On the Go is for adults over the age of 18.
  • Current programming takes places every Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. starting at the Point Pleasant Bus Loop.
  • For any questions, please contact our current walk guide and facilitator, Arthur, at

On the Go is for adults, over the age of 18, who are navigating grief.

We ask that participants dress for the weather in comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle.

On the Go walks will last one hour at a pace that is adjusted for the comfort and ability of participants.

Trained facilitators will guide discussion during walks. Topics can include: challenges in grief, day-to-day experiences, offering understanding, and sharing successes. All conversations are confidential and will be kept within the group.

Unfortunately, due to the walking route and being able to adjust to different speeds, we ask that pets stay home. Service animals are welcome.

On the Go will assess the weather the day of each walk for the comfort and safety of participants. Interested participants can visit our Instagram and Facebook to check for cancellation notices or email Arthur at
