Jeannie has fifteen years experience as a private nanny/child care worker.
After losing their mother to a battle with ALS, Jeannie was inspired to work in health care, specifically in palliative care and this personal experience informs their work as a provider of quality care with insight into what patients and their families might be going through when living at end of life. Jeannie became a certified Continuing Care Assistant in 2017 and has worked in long term care and home care, but always had the goal of working for Hospice Halifax. At the end 2019 Jeannie’s wish came true and they joined the Hospice as a care team attendant. Work at Hospice has shown Jeannie that life is short so must be enjoyed at least a little each day that we have.
