At Hospice Halifax, we are dedicated to fostering a compassionate home-like environment where individuals and their loved ones can receive quality grief and end-of-life care. Your dedication and ongoing support are crucial pieces in creating Hospice’s blanket of care and we are deeply grateful for your commitment and involvement in our shared vision.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to continue this mission with you and introduce Rachel Boehm as the next Executive Director of Hospice Halifax, effective May 21, 2024.
Rachel brings over 20 years of experience in both the public and non-profit sectors, with an impressive record of leading organizational transformations and developing strategies that have informed and improved health care in Atlantic Canada for the past 15 years. She comes to us from Horizon Health in New Brunswick where she has served as the Executive Director, Addiction and Mental Health since 2022. Prior to that, she held various leadership roles, including manager, program leader, and director in the Mental Health and Addictions Program, Central Zone, Nova Scotia Health Authority and its predecessor, Capital Health.
In addition, Rachel’s early career experience in non-profit communications and fundraising sets her apart as a leader who aligns with the vision, mission and values of Hospice Halifax and understands the needs of our organization and the communities we serve.
Beginning May 21, 2024, we’re eager to provide an opportunity for you to meet Rachel. She’s expressed excitement about connecting with our community of caring supporters and learning about Hospice Halifax from those who have been touched by our work.
Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for continuing to support compassionate care for patients, their families, and loved ones. Together we look forward to this new chapter and growth to come.
Sincerely,
Meagan Halverson
