In April 2019, Grace toured Hospice at its Open House and soon became a dedicated and passionate volunteer. She is grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at such an impactful place early on in life. After volunteering in many roles, Grace joined the team as a part-time receptionist in 2021. She finds working at the front desk very meaningful as it is often the gateway to Hospice care for patients and loved ones as they navigate their unique journey with end -of-life, death and grief. Currently, Grace is studying Health Promotion at Dalhousie University and hopes to continue to work in palliative care. Grace volunteers with a number of organizations, including the IWK where she is a clerical volunteer, a patient partner on the Transition of Care Committee, and a youth facilitator for the You’re In Charge Program. In her spare time, Grace enjoys going on walks with Stella (her soft-coated wheaten terrier), listening to podcasts, cooking/baking and playing tennis.
